Knowledge Gap

While BFR is an established modality in the world of strength training, there is minimal understanding of when/how BFR can be implemented in the clinical world and in immediate post-op situations. This opportunity presents minimal risk factors, but BFR can be a valuable tool to create chemical and hormonal changes that are shown to delay atrophy.

Clinical Bottom Line:

BFR applied in a rehab setting can create an anabolic environment that can aid in the prevention of atrophy, and with the development of hypertrophy and increased strength following injury.

Learning Objectives:

  1. ID any Contraindications and risk factors of the patient prior to BFR application.
  2. Participants will be able to measure 100% LOP
  3. Participants will be able to identify correct BFR parameters based on the outcome that has been established as their goal.
